E-Textiles and Sustainability Workshop
Focussing on the world of e-textiles, Innovate UK and QinetiQ’s Advanced Materials team are hosting a full day event to explore the current innovation needs of the industry and the challenges it faces. The event will take place at QinetiQ’s headquarters in Farnborough, Hampshire.
About the event
E-textiles present a complex challenge when considering sustainability due to the additional electronic sensing, actuation and connections required within the textiles, alongside functionality and washability. This is an opportunity to hear from the e-textiles product developers as well as researchers at the forefront of this technology as they drive innovation to overcome barriers.
We’ll discover the current state of the industry and look at related sustainable solutions, which include conductive polymers for yarns and designing for circularity. We will discuss frameworks for designing e-textiles with repair, recycle and end-of-life in mind and hear about the latest policies and e-textile waste legislations.
