About the event
In March 2023, we published the first edition of the Innovate UK materials and manufacturing vision 2050. We are now preparing to publish a second edition and we are eager for fresh perspectives.
We are hosting three workshops which will build on the input we have received since publication, including the 2023-2024 ReforMM & SusBioMM workshops. They provide an opportunity to reflect and engage in the discussion that will help shape this vision further.
Each workshop will include plenary discussions and group work, focusing on the following ten areas:
- Core Areas: materials, design, supply chains, production, in use & reuse
- Enabling Areas: energy, regulations & policy, skills, relations, value models
When and where:
- Tuesday 29 April 2025 – London – 10:00 – 15.30
- Thursday 1 May 2025 – Manchester – 10:00 – 15.30
- Tuesday 13 May 2025 – Glasgow – 10:30 – 16:00
Workshop objectives
The aim of the workshops is to build consensus on:
- how our strategic imperatives may evolve over time
- which innovations are most urgent to address
- how to effectively monitor productivity and other metrics
- how to mitigate any potential future dichotomies
- how the vision can work alongside the industrial strategy
Who should attend?
The workshop is intended for individuals who have a strategy or technology development role. We are aiming for a diverse group with an emphasis on industry. Each workshop will be limited to around 50 participants.
If you cannot attend any of the workshops, we can offer to contact you for a 1:1 discussion. If you wish to forward this invitation to a colleague, please contact us first.
