Maria Mackay

I am a Knowledge Transfer Manager in Emerging and Enabling team, where I work to accelerate emerging innovation in life sciences and biotechnology. I enable cross-sector collaboration between researchers, clinicians and companies, supporting them to connect with relevant expertise, partners and funding, and to navigate the commercial and regulatory challenges involved in translating innovation from concept to market.

In my current role, I focus on emerging areas of life science innovation, including Novel Alternative Models (NAMs), organoids, phage and antimicrobial research, and life sciences in microgravity, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders across the ecosystem.

With over a decade of experience supporting the commercialisation and adoption of health and life science innovation. This has given me a strong understanding of funding pathways, evidence requirements and the practical realities innovators face when moving towards real world impact.
