The event will be hosted by the UK–Kenya Alternative Proteins Global Innovation Network which is funded by Innovate UK Global Alliance Africa focused on advancing food security, nutrition, and sustainable economic growth through innovation in alternative proteins.

Event timings: 9am – 12pm EAT | 7am – 10am GMT

This roundtable will focus on innovative global solutions focused on addressing challenges in food security, climate resilience, and protein supply chains. Kenya and broader African markets are rapidly seeking alternatives to traditional animal-based protein sources, opening opportunities for UK-Africa collaboration.

The roundtable will spotlight ongoing innovations in the network’s focus areas plant-based proteins and insects for food and explore the future inclusion of fermentation-based proteins. It will provide a collaborative platform to present early-stage case studies, explore investment opportunities, and establish innovation pipelines between UK and African stakeholders.
