About the competition
This funding is part of the National Materials Innovation Programme, which was announced as part of the Advanced Manufacturing Sector Plan in the UK’s Modern Industrial Strategy. This is the initial competition under the programme, designed to prime the materials community, support collaboration and accelerate the translation of new material innovations across the seven thematic areas.
What’s on offer?
Up to £2 million in grant funding available across seven material innovation opportunity themes comprising:
- Six High Growth Opportunity themes identified in the National Materials Innovation Strategy.
- One Strategic Material Opportunity theme: Metamaterials and Metasurfaces.
Feasibility study grants of between £50,00 to £100,000, covering up to 70% of eligible costs for micro/small organisations, 60% for medium enterprises and 50% for large enterprises.
