At this event you will have the opportunity to hear about how the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and the National Measurement Laboratory (NML) are supporting the drive towards more sustainable medicines manufacturing. NPL applies world-leading expertise in measurement science to help industry quantify and reduce environmental impacts, improve process efficiency, and ensure product quality throughout the medicines lifecycle. Whilst NML develops and maintains the UKs national standards for chemical and biological measurements.
Together, they support the development of reliable methods to measure carbon emissions and resource use, to advancing digital and analytical tools for greener production, their work underpins innovation, regulatory confidence, and the transition to a more sustainable, net zero medicines sector.
From NPL, the speaker will introduce the development of quantitative and qualitative metrology underpinning innovative technology platforms, ranging from advanced therapeutics to bio-based packaging, supporting the adoption of green chemistry, improvement of resource efficiency and circularity in UK’s medicine manufacturing sector.
After the talks there will be an opportunity to engage in a question-and-answer session with the speakers.
