Innovate UK will invest up to £2 million in the Contracts for Innovation: industrial human relevant drug models competition, in partnership with the National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research (NC3Rs).

About the competition
Opening on 2 March 2026, the aim of this competition is to stimulate the development and adoption of the next-generation of validated non-animal pharmacokinetic and cardiovascular safety models for drug discovery and development.
Contracts for Innovation is a competitive UK government programme that enables innovators to work directly with the public sector to develop new technologies and processes, providing funding for R&D and a route to market.
This webinar will include details of the funding competition, including the scope of the call, timeframes and the sorts of projects that are eligible.
