Overview
The Connecting Capability strategy brings together interconnected strengths and capabilities across the areas of Cyber Security, Assured 5G Connectivity Technologies, and Smart Electronic Systems (including semiconductors and novel technologies) to support the development of scalable, procurable and deployable solutions across the UK economy.
These initiatives are at a critical stage of development, we are seeking evidence and insight from stakeholders across industry, research, academia government and innovation ecosystem and adjacent sectors to help shape future programmes and intervention.
We are inviting expressions of interest from organisations and individuals to participate in a full day workshop. The insights gathered willinform future Innovate UK and UKRI activity, helping to ensure that public investment is targeted, evidence led, and optimised for impact.
This is an opportunity for those who are closest to the opportunities and challenges in these areas and sectors to directly contribute to how future support for connected capability development, adoption and scaling is shaped.
Aim of the workshop
To gather structured, insights from stakeholders on the opportunities, challenges, and programme design considerations relevant to Innovate UK’s Connecting Capabilities portfolio and to use that evidence to strengthen the basis for future investment decisions.
Workshop objectives
Across the workshop streams we aim to:
- Validate the key challenges, market gaps, and barriers affecting development, integration and adoption
- Test current thinking on programme design and intervention approaches against stakeholder perspectives and market need.
- Explore the conditions required to support trusted, scalable and procurable solution.
- Gather qualitative evidence on the conditions under which public investment can be most effective
- Inform the strategic rationale and evidence base that will underpin future investment proposals
