The problem and opportunity

The UK justice system is under growing pressure, with rising backlogs and now 80% of family court cases now involving a litigant in person since legal aid cuts. Outcomes depend on large volumes of chaotic evidence, from messages and screenshots to bank statements, which lawyers and litigants must assemble by hand. This drives cost, delay and unequal access to justice. Existing tools digitise files, but none prepare evidence to court standards.

The solution and innovation

‘Pivot’ uses AI to organise evidence in any format, connecting people, events, claims and documents so every output can be traced back to its source. The platform flags gaps and inconsistencies and produces court-ready bundles, chronologies and schedules. It is live with family law firms today, and with Innovate UK backing, we are now building a consumer product to bring the same tools to litigants in person.

Market and ambition

We work with UK family law firms, with our platform live among early adopter firms and a waitlist of over 28 more. We are now building a consumer product to widen access to justice for litigants in person. Over the next three years, we plan to scale across the UK and expand to the US, where courts face the same challenges.

Founder perspective

Nimrita went through the family courts as a litigant in person, building her case from thousands of messages and documents by hand after prolonged legal representation became unsustainable. She built Pivot so family lawyers no longer have to assemble case files manually, and so those facing the system alone can do so with confidence.
