The problem and opportunity
Homecare and discharge teams are often relying on spreadsheets, phone calls and manual judgement to find capacity and build care plans. This wastes scarce coordinator time, creates unrealistic schedules, delays care at home and adds pressure to hospitals and local authorities. Existing systems record or communicate tasks, but rarely automatically generate feasible, route-aware plans that match real capacity, skills and timing constraints.
The solution and innovation
MyHelpa turns care needs and staff/provider capacity into feasible Plan A/Plan B options for human approval. Unlike human-led rostering tools, our constraint-based optimisation considers timing, geography, skills, continuity, workload and travel together. The platform is already used by care providers, and the Women in Innovation project will validate a focused care-at-home orchestration minimum viable product (MVP) with pilot/shadow evidence.
Market and ambition
Our first market is UK domiciliary care providers, reablement services and local authority brokerage teams. Longer term, MyHelpa can support discharge-to-home pathways across UK Integrated Care Boards (ICBs). Over 2–3 years, we aim to convert pilots into paid deployments and build a repeatable SaaS route to market.
Founder perspective
I’m Tracy Greenan, a qualified accountant and former finance change professional who founded MyHelpa after seeing how manual planning holds care teams back. I combine operational, financial and product experience with deep social care insight, giving me the skills to turn a complex system problem into a practical commercial product.
