The problem and opportunity
Rising temperatures are driving overheating across buildings, exposing occupiers and asset owners to higher operational costs, growing health risks and resiliency challenges. Because heat is poorly measured and managed, the default response is to use power-hungry cooling systems that increases energy use and emissions, and paradoxically make the problem worse. This leaves targeted passive cooling solutions overlooked despite their potential impact.
The solution and innovation
We bring an integrated approach to heat resilience by combining intelligent geospatial modelling and our circular radiative cooling paint made from recycled waste streams. The software identifies where passive cooling has the greatest impact and enables targeted application of the cooling paint. Early trials at the Earls Court Development Company in London showed 30°C cooler roof surfaces and an estimated 20% reduction in energy use.
Market and ambition
We support owners of the most heat-stressed commercial buildings, starting in the UK, where two pilot projects are already underway. As we expand internationally, we aim to scale deployment across portfolios to strengthen the heat resilience of buildings and cities.
Founder perspective
Sandra spent over a decade in real estate private equity, driving retrofit strategies across Europe. Seeing how conventional cooling was creating a vicious heating cycle, she retrained in engineering and co-founded Emissiv to rethink cooling from first principles. She is passionate about building heat-resilient cities.
