The problem and opportunity

Maternity care faces persistent avoidable harm when fetal compromise in labour is recognised too late. This risks babies lives and affects mothers, clinicians and NHS services through emergency interventions, litigation and long-term costs. Current monitoring relies heavily on subjective interpretation and fragmented workflows, creating variation and delayed escalation.

The solution and innovation

5GoreConn is developing AIM4SafeBaby, a clinical decision-support platform to help clinicians recognise fetal compromise in labour earlier. The innovation combines routinely generated maternity data with AI-enabled risk signalling and escalation support. The approach is IP-protected and has early prototype validation.

Market and ambition

Our initial market is NHS and private maternity units, with international potential in health systems seeking safer labour care. Over the next 2-3 years, we aim to complete validation studies, secure regulatory readiness and move from prototype to pilot deployment with maternity providers.

Founder perspective

Healthcare professional, entrepreneur and mother Dr Pallavi Gore brings a family-centred lens to maternity innovation. She leads 5GoreConn with clinical, patient and commercial insight, supported by obstetricians Dr Rowan Connell and Dr Rahul Gore, and senior research midwife Mrs Roisin Connell.
