The problem and opportunity
Despite decades of financial education initiatives, only 39% of UK adults are financially literate (The Richmond Project, 2026). Over 5 million Gen Z haven’t saved in the past two years (Yorkshire Building Society 2024) while 89% of employees say money worries impact their work (Zellis 2025). Existing solutions rely on one-off workshops, text-heavy resources and budgeting apps, creating a clear opportunity for behaviour-led financial education.
The solution and innovation
Financial Education Crew reimagines financial education by combining behavioural science and experiential learning to drive behaviour change, not just knowledge. Our IP-protected ecosystem spans games, journals, workshops and digital tools, with an AI platform in development to encourage healthier money habits through gamification. Supported by Innovate UK R&D funding, our innovation has been validated through user testing and national awards.
Market and ambition
We serve employers, educational institutions and communities. Following two years of R&D and extensive user testing, we’ve secured our first education contracts in India and launched commercially in May 2026. Next, we’ll scale our education business across the UK and India while building AI platform for fintech.
Founder perspective
My undergraduate research explored the impact financial literacy has on economic outcomes, while my master’s degree research focused on developing innovative financial education tools. Four years in credit recovery showed me how jargon-heavy finance leaves people behind, and my neurodivergence inspired accessible, creative & behaviour-led learning.
