Megan Owen
Knowledge Transfer Manager - Nuclear
As Knowledge Transfer Manager for Nuclear in the Clean Energy and Built Environment team, I help organisations connect, collaborate and innovate. I guide them through the innovation landscape and build the relationships needed to turn ideas into real-world impact.
My focus includes technology adoption, supply chains, cross-sector partnerships and emerging opportunities for nuclear to address wider clean energy and industrial challenges. I work across fission, fusion and decommissioning, while supporting links with manufacturing, materials, robotics and AI. I am particularly interested in nuclear applications across sectors such as medicine, electronics, sensors, space and transport.
Before joining Innovate UK Business Connect, I completed a PhD in Nuclear Engineering at Bangor University, specialising in atomic-scale modelling of nuclear materials. I then undertook postdoctoral research at Imperial College London before moving into industrial nuclear R&D. This sector expertise enables me to support innovation across the nuclear landscape.
