Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition Round 2 Briefing Event
The Department for Transport, Innovate UK and Innovate UK KTN would like to invite you to an industry engagement event on the 9th June in the historic maritime location of Liverpool.
In March 2022, the UK Government announced £206m to establish a UK Shipping Office for Reducing Emissions (UK SHORE) and on 24 May 2022, kick-started this ambitious programme, by launching a package of initiatives. This included the launch of CMDC2, the second Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition, aimed at bringing pre-commercial technologies to market level.
Webcast recording is now available
CMDC2 builds on the success of the first CMDC, providing £12 million to match-fund feasibility studies and pre-deployment trials in innovative clean maritime solutions, enabling full-scale technology demonstrations.
CMDC2 is now open for applications, with a closing date of 13 July 2022. Full details on the scope and application process for CMDC2 are available at:
- Clean Maritime Competition Round 2 – Feasibility
- Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition Round 2 – Collaborative R&D
What to expect?
Innovate UK KTN will host the official competition briefing event for CMDC2 on 9th June 2022 at 10.00. This hybrid virtual and in-person event will enable you, as an interested stakeholder, to learn more about the scope of the competition, the application process, and begin to find those all-important collaboration partners.
Additionally, those attending in person will have the opportunity to deliver a 2-minute pitch to other delegates. This is a great chance for those interested in applying to the CMDC2 to meet and network with potential partners. If you would like to pitch at the event, please indicate this on the registration form.
Please note there will be further networking opportunities through consortia brokerage events in the weeks following this competition briefing.
Collaboration Platform
For delegates attending in-person and virtually, Innovate UK KTN has launched an online networking platform, Meeting Mojo, to help potential applicants find suitable partners for their bids for the competition. This tool can be used to discuss project opportunities and facilitate introductions between organisations interested in this area. It provides powerful networking through online messaging and 1:1 virtual meetings. Through the platform, you can create your own profile, search other users’ profiles and schedule video chat meetings.
We recommend you start building your profile ahead of the event on 9th June. Then post-event, we encourage you to revisit the site to browse other users’ profiles and send messages to discuss possible collaboration opportunities.
KTN will also be available to facilitate collaborations beyond the event.
