Chemicals and pharmaceutical ingredients and services Trade Mission to India
Join the Department for International Trade on a Trade Mission to India and build relationships with buyers and key stakeholders.
India’s chemicals industry reached $155-160bn in 2013 and forecasts from India’s Draft National Chemical Policy predicts it will reach $373bn by 2022. Alongside this, bilateral trade between India and the UK is growing at a rate of 30-40% a year, and investment is on a similarly strong upward trend.
The Department for International Trade (DIT), in partnership with North East of England Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC), are organising a chemicals and pharmaceutical ingredients and services Trade Mission to India. The aim is to help UK businesses to learn about the Indian Market and its business conditions, while taking advantage of a network that has been built up over many years on this week-long trip.
What to expect:
- Access to key decision makers throughout the pharmaceutical and process chemical industry sectors;
- Attendance at India Pharma Expo 2018, meetings at innovation centres in Pune and networking and workshops in Mumbai;
- Network with senior representatives from Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), Karnataka Drugs and Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (KDPMA), DIT High Commission, Tata Chemicals and ICC members;
- Tailored workshops around waste treatment, adding value to waste, R&D cooperation and innovation, based on the core competencies and interests of the delegation, to maximise business opportunities and future collaborations.
There is also the opportunity to join NEPIC at the 11th Annual Indian Chemical Council (ICC) Conference (27-28 February 2018). The topic for the 2018 Conference is ‘The Future – Energy, Mobility and Chemicals’.
As a guide, this trip is expected to cost circa £2,500 based on economy flights, visa, recommended accommodation, internal travel, etc (not including the extended trip to ICC Conference).
