Commercialisation of small nuclear event, 5-6 November

Posted on: 08/10/2018

Registration has now opened for the first ever national conference dedicated to exploring the commercialisation of small nuclear in the UK.

Hosted by the Department of Business, Energy and Industry Strategy (BEIS), the Commercialisation of Small Nuclear event will take place from 5-6 November at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in Coventry.

This conference will bring together nuclear and non-nuclear industry stakeholders, interested regional stakeholders, vendors, utilities, energy intensive users and the finance sector to promote further dialogue and collaboration.  It will give delegates the opportunity to see live demonstrations and hear key-note addresses on all aspects of commercialising small nuclear in the UK.

The conference was a commitment given by BEIS as part of the government’s Nuclear Sector Deal which was announced in the summer.  This showed a shared commitment between government and industry to the nuclear sector and the development and deployment of small reactors in the UK.  This event will feature speakers outlining elements from the Nuclear Sector Deal and how it is pushing the industry forward.

An evening networking event on Monday 5 November will be followed by a full day conference on Tuesday 6 November.  Amongst the speakers announced so far there are representatives from BEIS, Nuclear AMRC, MTC, National Nuclear Laboratory and Energy for Humanity.  For details of the agenda, click here.

There are opportunities to sponsor and exhibit and you can find out more here.

Tickets for the conference will be free of charge, with a small cost to attend the optional networking dinner.  Register to attend here.
