Costain Intelligent Infrastructure Challenge 2019
Highways UK has launched its digital tech competition to unlock innovative solutions for UK transport
KTN is supporting the Costain Intelligent Infrastructure Challenge focused around intelligent solutions for future highways.  The winning entries will be able to pitch to a panel of industry experts, including KTN, at the Highways UK 2019 event in Birmingham on 6-7 November.
The Intelligent Infrastructure Challenge is an open competition for industry and the judges are looking for entries from novel and innovative intelligent infrastructure products or systems that have the potential to be trialled on a UK road within 6-18 months.  Entries can be relevant to any part of the UK road network from urban to rural, regional to motorways.
Innovation lies at the core of the government’s Industrial Strategy to put the UK at the forefront of the industries of the future. The strategy is geared around four Grand Challenges designed to mirror major global changes, one of which is the Future of Mobility.
Innovations in technology and business models have the potential to radically alter how people and goods move around our cities and places and at the same time create significant social benefits including: safer streets, a more inclusive transport system, smoother journeys, more active travel and better public transport. Innovations in mobility can transform our society.
The deadline for entries has been extended to 31 July.  To find out more and enter, visit the website here.
