Follow Innovate UK on the latest Global Expert Mission in Cyber Security to Australia

The UK and Australia have a long-standing partnership not only as part of the Commonwealth community but also in the realm of defence and security as members of the Five Eyes and Five Power Defence Arrangements. In January 2022, the UK signed a Critical Technologies and Cyber Partnership with Australia, in part designed to “tackle malign actors who disrupt cyber-space”.

Under the UK’s Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF) Cyber Programme, the Prime Minister Johnson also announced £25m in resilience building for the Indo-Pacific within his joint statement with Prime Minister Morrison, of which the FCDO will administer a £14.5m Cyber component, with significant impact expected in Australia. This GEM intends to assess the potential interest and opportunities to establish connections with the Australian cyber ecosystem.

Innovate UK will bring together a group of UK experts to engage with leading businesses and academics in the Australia to explore areas for collaboration. The GEM provides a platform for businesses, universities and government agencies to engage with key stakeholders from the Cyber Security community in the UK and the Australia, with the aim of fostering long-term collaboration and partnership.
