Identifying research infrastructure and expertise for electrochemical energy storage applications
A new study will look at how electrochemical energy storage research can adapt to research priorities & innovations in energy storage.
The University of Liverpool, as one of the main UK institutions for interdisciplinary research into energy storage, is leading a collaborative fact finding study, working with research institutions across the UK to better understand the how evaluation of advanced energy materials during their operation within an energy storage device can support advances in future electrical energy storage.
Take part in the survey – deadline 30th June 2018
They will be producing a report on the infrastructure landscape and expertise in the UK for the characterisation of electrochemical energy storage materials and devices.  They are currently conducting a short  survey and are inviting researchers to contribute a description of their facilities to be included in this report. If you would like to take part please download the survey document here, and once you have completed the survey please return it by e-mail to H.Amari@liverpool.ac.uk, no later than 30th June 2018.  They would also appreciate it if you could forward this request to others that you feel may have an interest in the survey.
Workshop, 16th July 2018, Liverpool
They are also hosting a workshop on 16th July 2018 in Liverpool to bring together knowledge based researchers from across the UK with industry partners to better understand how information developed through primary research into battery characterisation can be used by others to:
- provide insights into their own materials and chemistries;
- explore what mechanisms can be used to share research outcomes;
- ensure acceleration of UK wide innovation;
- identify potential infrastructure gaps where there is a critical need for new R&D investment;
