Innovate UK competition for UK-China collaboration to tackle AMR now open

Posted on: 03/04/2018

Innovate UK has opened a collaborative competition to work with Chinese partners to tackle the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance.

Innovate UK is to invest up to £10 million of Official Development Assistance (ODA) funding on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care. The Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) will invest up to 60 million RMB to fund the Chinese partners.

The competition aims to encourage innovative partnerships between business and academics in the UK and China to carry out novel projects that neither country would be likely to conduct, within the same timeframe, without the expertise of the other. These should result in new products and services to address antimicrobial infections in humans and in animals, providing that the infection being addressed constitutes a significant threat to human health.

For more information for UK participants on the scope, eligibility and how to apply for this competition please visit Innovate UK’s competition page.

For more information for Chinese participants on how to apply to this competition please visit the MoST competition site.
