Knowledge Transfer Manager – Connected and Autonomous Vehicles
The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) is funded by Innovate UK to support businesses in accelerating development of innovative products or services and adoption of new technologies for the benefit of the UK economy. We help businesses to grow the economy and improve people’s lives by capturing maximum value from innovative ideas, scientific research and creativity.
The Knowledge Transfer Manager (KTM) for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAV) role will be based within the Transport team at the KTN. As well as working with others within the Transport team, the postholder will be required to proactively work across the organisation with KTMs in other enabling technology sectors to identify and deliver knowledge exchange and technology transfer activities that accelerate the identification and take-up of innovation into CAV. This role will be concerned with the identification of innovation opportunities and subsequent development and delivery of supporting activities that will build the UK into a world-class destination for CAV technologies, products and services. Working with multiple stakeholders (e.g. funders, government, transport providers, local authorities, business, industry and academia) across the sector the post holder will consider the full range of technology challenges that impact the deployment of CAVs and then seek innovative solutions. The ability to identify potential solutions from other sectors and the research community while translating thinking across disciplines is particularly important.
The post holder will be expected to have a sound understanding and knowledge of the drivers, technologies and opportunities for CAV in the wider transport environment, and should have a technical background in a related technology. An ability to work confidently across disciplines with a systems approach is a key attribute for the role. The candidate will be expected to have working experience within industry, and may already have strong connections with key policy makers, OEMs and industry-players. A track record in successful development and collaborative delivery of networking events would be an advantage. The ability to relate the sector technologies and their challenges to the broader communities across the KTN and industry is essential. KTN maintains a forward thinking, talented and diverse team; applications from underrepresented groups are actively encouraged.
