KTN host Impact Event at All Energy Exhibition and Conference 2018
KTN join up with the Innovate UK ‘family’¬†to generate awareness of work that Innovate UK and KTN do within the Energy sector.
On the 2nd and 3rd May 2018, at the All Energy Exhibition and Conference in Glasgow, KTN joined up with the Innovate UK ‘family’¬†to generate awareness within the Energy sector of the work that Innovate UK and KTN do in helping companies to develop new technologies.¬†In addition to being on the stand to discuss the work of KTN and Innovate UK, KTN staff also chaired one session of the Innovate UK Clean Growth and Infrastructure Innovation Showcase on Day 1 and organised, chaired and facilitated the Impact Event on Day 2.
Throughout the event, KTN shared the Innovate UK pavilion within the Main Hall of the exhibition. Seven stands were occupied by companies from the energy sector that had received support and/or funding from Innovate UK and there was a ‘meet the expert’ seating area where companies and advisors could discuss how Innovate UK might work to advance the objectives of the companies.
In addition, on Day 1 there was an Innovate UK Clean Growth and Infrastructure Innovation Showcase, the aim of which was to connect innovators to investors, potential supply chain partners and new customers to drive forward their organisations and the UK’s clean growth. Each of 30 SME companies, selected through an application process, had a four-minute opportunity to showcase their technology and field questions from the audience, with a networking lunch between the two pitching sessions.
On Day 2 delegates were introduced to the work of the Innovate UK Clean Growth and Infrastructure team and relevant funding opportunities for the development of individual technologies and integrated solutions were highlighted. Attendees learnt about the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund programmes on Energy Systems and Construction and heard from four companies that have benefited from Innovate UK funding. Four Challenge Owners (Network Rail, Siemens Energy, Sellafield Ltd and I3P) then described to the delegates an issue of key importance to them and delegates were given the opportunity to collaborate in helping address those issues through their own experience and expertise.
To support the event, a Clean Growth Case Study brochure was produced, which you can download here.
