Paving the Way to Geospatial 2.0

The new year brings exciting news from KTN’s Geospatial Insights SIG.

 

We are proud to announce that KTN’s Geospatial Insights Special Interest Group will be supporting the London Geospatial Week (18-22 May 2020), a series of events showcasing the best and most innovative geospatial solutions, reflecting the rapid growth of the geospatial industry.

A key part of this week is GEO Business 2020, the geospatial event designed for everyone involved in gathering, storing, processing and delivery of geospatial data, taking place on 20-21 May.

GEO Business is the largest geospatial event in the UK, attracting over 3000 visitors from more than 50 countries. Taking place at the Business Design Centre in London, the show is free to attend and incorporates an international trade exhibition, strategic conferences, cutting edge seminars, a programme of live commercial workshops and a popular programme of social events.

The show focuses on the technology that underpins many 21st century networks and systems, from 5G phones, construction, utilities to heritage and marine, all of whom rely on up-to-date geospatial data and technologies. The event’s seminar programme focuses on all these areas and many more together with the technologies that capture, process and, critically, use the data: sectors like Highways, Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Utilities, Asset Management as well as environments like marine and coastal. There is also a growing list of new applications like disaster relief, heritage, locating sanitation in the developing world and commercial retail developments.

At GeoBusiness, the KTN Geospatial Insights Special Interest Group (GeoSIG) will host a series of breakfast networking events at the Business Design Centre, and launch of a key publication: Paving the Way to Geospatial 2.0.

The GeoSIG helps stimulate cross sector innovation in the geospatial community and helps UK companies create groundbreaking products and services. So far, the GeoSIG has run pitch training and investor showcase for start up companies, a key event on Maintenance of Infrastructure Assets using Geospatial Insights, a Geospatial Maths Study Group with Bath University and a Geospatial Workshop at the UK Space Conference.
