About the Challenge
The Transforming Foundation Industries (TFI) Challenge is a programme of interventions designed to stimulate scale-up of the innovative technologies necessary to ensure a sustainable future for the Foundation Industries (Cement, Glass, Ceramics, Paper, Metals and Bulk Chemicals). Part of this sustainable future relies on new players for new innovations, skills and perspectives.
About the event
On International Girls in ICT day on 27th April, WINFI in collaboration with the EPSRC Next Stage Digital Economy Research Centre (DIGIT Lab), led by the Initiative for Digital Economy (INDEX), is hosting a Foundation Industries 4.0 – Workshop & Networking Event. This exclusive one-day event will feature a series of presentations from innovative businesses using digital technologies and platforms to tackle resource and energy efficiency challenges in the Foundation Industries. There will also be an interactive challenge-led workshop delivered by Saeema Ahmed-Kristensen, Professor of Design Engineering and Innovation at the University of Exeter.
Who should attend
• Foundation industry/materials businesses with expertise or interest in Industry 4.0
• Early career researchers and PhD students studying a relevant topic e.g. digital economy/materials 4.0/data driven design
