Resource Efficiency for Materials and Manufacturing feasibility study competition winners announced

The nominated business will each receive a share of £1 million to complete feasibility studies for their projects aimed at promoting resource efficiency in the UK materials and manufacturing sector. Broad adoption of resource efficiency is critical for economic growth, protecting our environment, and ensuring the resilience of supply. However, maximum implementation of resource efficient solutions is a complex and enormous task. This feasibility competition is part of the £15 million funded REforMM programme, designed to achieve key building blocks to help businesses transform to a resource efficient future. This Innovate UK programme is a result of the Materials and Manufacturing Vision 2050. The vision is key to understanding the vital role that materials and manufacturing hold in the UK economy through driving innovation, exports, job creation, productivity, and growth.

The next stage in the programme is the CR&D competition in which registered organisations can apply for a share of £12 million for ambitious research and development projects to support UK materials and manufacturing organisations with the ongoing goal of greater resource efficiency. Recipients of the CR&D competition will be announced in the coming months.
