Odunola Olabintan, The Health City - Young Innovators Nigeria 2023

Olabintan Odunola is the co-founder and CEO of The Health City and works with a professional team of professional experts comprising of Olatubosun Mobolaji, Co-Founder and Programme Lead, Teniola Bamigbola, Content Creator Lead, Wuraola Igboroodowo, Community Manager, and Dr. Bankole Iyanujesu, Co-Founder and Medical Operations Lead. The idea behind The Health City emerged from a survey the team conducted, which showed that more than 70% of respondents take care of the majority of their sexual-related health issues on their own or with the help of their friends. This inspired the team to develop a chatbot on their website for young people in Nigerian to speak to a doctor in confidence about their sexual health concerns for free.

The Health City had to place restrictions on this chat box due to the overwhelming demand, which inspired them to develop a complete solution. For a fee, young people can access a variety of sexual health services, including virtual consultations, referrals for physical services (including lab testing and pharmacies), and read accurate sexual health information via a health blog.

Olabintan Odunola is a medical doctor and social entrepreneur whose work focuses on Preventive Health, She is a Tedx Speaker with years of experience in Advocacy, Health Media and Communication.

Odunola is the Team Lead of The Health City, a tech-enabled social enterprise whose work focuses on preventive health services and education. Through their website thehealthcityonline.com, they provide health education and services for Adolescents and Young People in order to reduce the incidence and prevalence of chronic non communicable and infectious diseases.

Odunola is vested in Advocacy, Media and Health Tech, particularly the application of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare. Odunola is a multifaceted solution and result driven social entrepreneur, Her biggest dream is to “leave the world better than she met it”.
