UK – Switzerland Bilateral: Collaborative R&D Round 2
Innovate UK is working with Innosuisse to invest up to £4 million and CHF £3 million respectively into innovation projects, open from 5 February 2024.

The aim of this competition is to support UK-Swiss international business-led innovation collaboration. Through grant funding, Innovate UK will support UK businesses to collaborate with Swiss counterparts for their mutual global growth prospects.
The project proposal must have an obvious advantage and added value resulting from the cooperation between the participants from the two jurisdictions and has to contribute to the development of commercial products, processes, or technical services. These advantages can include:
- Increased innovation capability
- Commercial leads
- Access to R&D infrastructure
- New fields of application
This is an open scope competition and proposals can come from any technology area. We particularly encourage applications in, but not limited to, the following technologies:
- Life Sciences
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Semiconductor applications
- Quantum

Project requirements
Your project must meet the following requirements including:
- Have a maximum grant funding request of £450,000
- Start by 1 November 2024
- End by 31 October 2027
- Last between 18 months and 36 months
- Carry out the majority of its project work in the UK
- Intend to exploit the results from or in the UK
UK project partners must carry out the majority of their project work in the UK and intend to exploit the results from or in the UK.

UK registered organisations can apply for a share of up to £4 million for innovative projects in all technologies. You must collaborate with at least one Swiss implementation partner applying under the equivalent Swiss Innosuisse programme.
