Recording and slides now available
The event will reflect on the key takeaways from the Civil Security in Singapore Global Expert Mission (GEM), highlighting approaches to the development, deployment and governance of generative artificial intelligence (GAI) and its application to civil security.
Why attend?
In April 2024, a group of AI and civil security experts from the UK visited Singapore to gain an understanding of their approaches to the development, deployment and governance of GAI and its application to civil security. The GEM brought together industry experts and academics from the UK and Singapore to examine mutual challenges and opportunities for collaboration.
This dissemination event will present the findings of the GEM, delivered by the delegates.
Why the focus on GAI?
GAI is a potential game-changer technology and governments around the world are rushing to take a leadership role in both the development and governance of this technology. GAI and large language models (LLMs) hold tremendous potential, but they have also significantly reduced the barrier for criminals and fraudsters to mass-produce illicit or fake content with implications for civil security. Without the means to mitigate the use of GAI and confidently identify artificially generated material, GAI-enabled criminality will have a profound impact on policing and national security.
Who should attend?
Those working in civil security, IT, cybersecurity and AI. This includes technology developers, academics, policymakers and regulatory authorities.
