PEMD includes propulsion in transportation, energy generation and distribution, industrial machines and robotics. Innovative PEMD technologies are used in supply chains, like conductors and semiconductors including especially wide bandgap, converter/inverter systems, novel electric motor topologies, as well as integration and control strategies.
PEMD is a major contributor to economic growth and carbon reduction. It’s making a real difference in helping governments worldwide reach their Net Zero target.
This field is critical to the decarbonisation of sectors such as Automotive, Aviation, Rail, Marine, Energy generation and Industrial Drives. PEMD also enables innovative solutions such as e-mobility as well as personal and autonomous transportation.
Part of our work to support the sector includes being involved with the ISCF Wave 3 Driving the Electric Revolution Programme. It’s an £80 million programme that aims to accelerate the uptake of PEMD towards a Green Economic Recovery. As part of the programme, we deliver market intelligence and community building events. We also help innovators to connect with other parts of the PEMD supply chain.
