About the event
This competition aims to fund collaborative projects that will develop new solutions to support UK farming working towards achieving low emissions farming. These must address major on-farm or immediate post farmgate challenges or opportunities.
The funding opportunity will invest up to £12.5m into innovation projects. Total project costs for industrial research can be between £1m and £2.5m. Up to 70% of project costs can be funded by this grant depending upon business size. This funding is part of Defra’s Farming Innovation Programme, delivered by Innovate UK.
Projects must offer solutions that will benefit farmers, growers or foresters in England and significantly improve on-farm productivity, resilience, sustainability and progression towards low emissions farming.
Your project must address one or more of the following five key areas:
- Regenerative farming
- Energy
- Methanisation
- Reducing GHG emissions in livestock production
- Innovations to support land management
