Innovate UK’s Global Incubator Programme helps ambitious businesses to collaborate and expand in new markets, accelerating business growth.
During the session, you will:
- learn more about the Global Incubator Programme – Video Gaming, Canada
- learn about the local innovation ecosystems in Montreal
- learn how Innovate UK Business Growth and our incubator partner, La Piscine, will support you during the programme,
- be provided with guidance on the application process
- have the option to submit questions to the Global Incubator Programme panel
The Global Incubator Programme, funded and organised by Innovate UK, will include two week-long visits to Canada in November 2026 and February 2027. The November visit includes participation at Canada’s premier event for the video games sector, the Montreal International Gaming Summit (MIGS) 2026, that will provide the opportunity for companies to meet with the ecosystem partners, understand the market dynamics, gain visibility in the market and network with likeminded companies.
Note: This opportunity is fully funded support and not monetary funding.
Each business will be supported by an Innovate UK Business Growth Innovation & Growth Specialist or Scale Up Director to help maximise the potential of being part of the programme and exploit the opportunities generated.
Focus Areas
This Programme is focused on the video games sector, supporting companies developing innovative products, services and technologies within interactive entertainment and digital gaming.
We would welcome applications from innovative companies who could be developing technologies across a broad range of use cases including (but not limited to):
- Game engines and development platforms
- Real-time rendering, 3D and graphics technologies
- Audio technologies and spatial audio
- Cross-platform development tools
- Virtual production
- Remote/distributed production technologies
We would also welcome applications from businesses operating in adjacent creative industries—including TV, film, screen production, music and advertising—where there is a clear connection to the games ecosystem, transferable innovation, or strong potential for cross-sector collaboration, commercial growth and international market expansion.
