UK registered businesses can apply for £100K – £200K of grant funding to build innovation partnerships and demonstrate place-based solutions to accelerate a just net zero transition. The demonstration could be in either the UK market, or the African partner market (Kenya, South Africa or Nigeria), or both.
To apply the UK registered businesses must collaborate with an African partner (from Kenya, South Africa, or Nigeria). The aim of the competition is to:

- Test and demonstrate solutions which support a socially just and inclusive net zero transition.
- Create equitable partnerships between UK net zero innovators, and their counterparts in one or more of three African markets.
- Take the best approaches from each partner market and help apply it to the other, we are particularly interested in frugal innovation processes, and designing appropriate net zero solutions for under-served market segments.
