Event details
Non-Destructive Testing/Evaluation Technologies (NDT/NDE) underpin the safety, reliability and life extension of critical assets across sectors including manufacturing, energy, transport, infrastructure and defence. As digital technologies, automation, new materials and workforce dynamics reshape engineering practice, the role of NDT/NDE is evolving rapidly.
Innovate UK Business Connect, in collaboration with the UK Research Centre in Nondestructive Evaluation (RCNDE) and the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT), is convening a hybrid workshop to gather direct input from NDT developers and, crucially, end users to help shape a new evidenced view of the UK NDT landscape.
This workshop forms part of a wider programme of activity informing The Evolving Landscape of Non-Destructive Testing in the UK study. Building on insights gathered through industry workshops and surveys to date, this session will focus on capturing real world perspectives on current practice, emerging opportunities, barriers to adoption and future capability needs.
Participants will be invited to contribute to a structured survey and discussion exploring how NDT/NDE is used today, how it may evolve over the next 5-10 years, and what actions are needed to enable safe, trusted and effective adoption of advanced and digital NDT/NDE technologies.
