In doing so, the series aims to create a marketplace that connects resilience practitioners, decision-makers and solution providers to drive actionable, place-based and people-centred resilience outcomes.
Why this matters
As climate shocks and energy disruptions become increasingly interconnected, UK cities and regions face intensifying pressures. From extreme weather events and infrastructure disruption to changing energy demands and widening vulnerabilities. These challenges require more integrated, city and regional scale approaches that connect technology, people and place.

Understanding interconnected climate and energy risks and opportunities – city level and regional perspectives
This opening session will explore how UK cities and regions are understanding and responding to increasingly interconnected climate and energy challenges.
Bringing together regional perspectives from across city-level and regional systems, from local government to academia and infrastructure providers, the session will showcase how different actors are shaping resilience outcomes by identifying vulnerabilities, understanding interdependencies and developing innovative and collaborative approaches to resilience delivery.

From data to decision-making: Digital innovation for energy and climate resilience
Digital innovation is changing how cities understand, anticipate and respond to interconnected climate and energy resilience challenges. This session will spotlight how digital technologies and tools – such as digital twins, AI, data platforms and more – are being applied to translate data into resilience outcomes.
Through innovator-led case studies, speakers will demonstrate how digital technologies can help identify vulnerabilities, optimize infrastructure, test future scenarios and improve coordination.
The session will also examine the conditions needed for digital innovation to deliver meaningful resilience outcomes, including trust, interoperability and responsible use of data.

Decentralised approaches driving local resilience
The final session will explore how local energy assets and distributed models can support climate resilience by helping manage demand, strengthen flexibility and respond more effectively to changing pressures on central energy networks.
Discover how innovative technologies and models such as community energy, rooftop solar PV, battery storage and microgrids are creating new opportunities to generate, manage and govern energy locally, whilst supporting more inclusive and people-centred transitions.
