Transport Vision 2050: Industry review and feedback workshops
Express your interest to attend one of our virtual workshops as part of a review of Innovate UK’s Transport Vision 2050.
Innovate UK continually forecast the future to estimate global opportunity and future markets. Being accurate with this forecast is hugely important. We match this with measures of UK strengths and make decisions based on this on where the UK should invest, and we do this as part of a wider system working with partner organisations.
Transport is a hugely important area and one that is going through some significant changes with increasing digitalisation and connectivity, the drive towards zero emission and sustainability, and a greater appreciation for customer’s needs.
Innovate UK has undertaken a significant review and documented a vision for 2050, and developed seven key pathways which map out the vehicles, vessels and supporting environment we expect to see in operation in 2025, 2030, 2040 and 2050. To do this we’ve used published sources, significant consultation with partners and some of our own understanding and extrapolation.
The first iteration of this vision was published in August 2021 and we are now in the process of updating it to reflect our learnings over the past two years.
Our aim is that offering transparency in our thoughts hopefully means we gain feedback from others so that we can improve, but also we hope the vision and supporting logic may be helpful for others.
Ahead of a launch in 2024, we’d like to test our updated pathways across a wide but select group of industry experts and other key contributors. We’re looking to share draft versions of the updated pathways and seek your input into what looks right, what needs more development and where the best supporting evidence for these pathways are.
This is a chance to influence the thinking of Innovate UK and our partners, highlighting where the key opportunities are.
If you are interested in joining one of our virtual workshops, please express your interest below for one of the specific workshops. We’ll review and group the EOIs and set virtual workshops for November 2023.
This expression of interest will close on 29th September at 5pm.
