In line with its mandate to provide efficient energy solutions to Africa’s myriad of energy challenges through the deployment of innovative technology and business models, the Global Alliance Africa Project, delivered by Innovate UK KTN, hosted a hybrid informative Energy Catalyst briefing and brokerage event in Kenya in March 2023, to give information about the Energy Catalyst Round 10 funding call.

Regarded as one of Nigeria’s agricultural hubs, Ekiti State is well-known for the vast plantations of cocoa, cassava, maize, and palm oil that grow across the country’s South-Western regions. But while crop and plantation-based agriculture has always been a cornerstone of the state’s economy, in recent decades an important player has emerged: aquaculture.

In Sandton, South Africa on 8 March 2023, Global Alliance Africa celebrated International Women’s Day and hosted the ‘More than a Woman’ Showcase with an exciting project pitch session where women innovators would share their ideas with a gathering of investors, ecosystem enablers, and support organisations from across the UK and Africa, to help them scale their solutions to the world. Katlego Malatji, Founder and CEO, ProjectOne Engineering was one of four finalists and the Africa team are delighted to present her story.
