Apply now to exhibit at Advanced Engineering 2021, a leading annual UK engineering and supply chain manufacturing event on 3 & 4 November 2021 at the NEC in Birmingham.

Technology market analysis by CB Insights (2019) found that 97% of start-up companies developing innovative ‘hardware’ fail (i.e., those developing physical products that require manufacturing). This compares with just 70% of tech start-ups that fail (those without a physical product).

Innovation is tough. There are some specific characteristics of navigating the Design to Manufacture journey that make it more challenging than other kinds of innovation. These challenges include:

  • Sourcing a team with a diverse range of skills and experience
  • Strengthening third-party relationships and finding reliable partners that can help you to succeed
  • Securing significant upfront investment to help a business grow and scale

At KTN we’ve established a whole programme of activity to help address these factors. As well as knowledge and skills, the right network and connections are essential.
Ideas do not form in a vacuum. Feedback and input from the supply chain (users, manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, retailers, investors, funders, policymakers) are so crucial! Nothing beats getting your idea out there and that’s where shows like Advanced Engineering come into their own.

The fact that start-ups can showcase on this prominent platform alongside global brands is an opportunity second to none. The Enabling Innovation Zone is a springboard for the UK’s most exciting technologies.

Advanced Engineering Sectors

Advanced Engineering welcomes applications from across all engineering sectors, including aerospace, automotive, marine, medical technology, and industrial manufacturing. Judges from Innovate UK, KTN and Innovation DB expect to see some of the most exciting new technologies and ideas. These could be related to novel materials, design and manufacturing processes, software, machine learning, AI, data, or something not yet even considered!

Applications will be considered and filtered down to the final ten. Successful applicants will receive a branded plinth in the Enabling Innovation zone to display their technologies, along with full marketing support in the show’s catalogue, on its website and across its PR campaigns.

Apply to exhibit at Advanced Engineering 2021

Apply now before applications close on the 27th August 2021 for your free display pod for your chance to be selected as one of the lucky ten organisations selected by our expert panel.
