Call for Speakers & Interested Parties: Metal-Organic Frameworks Event

Posted on: 20/07/2018

KTN would like to hear from prospective speakers and people who would like to attend this event.

The Knowledge Transfer Network’s Brian McCarthy is to host an event on Metal-Organic Frameworks later on this year.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are a class of crystalline materials that consist of coordination bonds between transition-metal cations and multidentate organic linkers. The structure of MOFs is characterized by an open framework that can be porous (porous materials). MOFs – with their inherently large surface area Рcan be used for gas storage, purification and separation, as well as catalysis and sensing applications. For example, a metal–organic framework with tailored porosity can provide a mixed matrix membrane with excellent performance for natural gas purification and butane isomer separation.

KTN will be hosting an event in late 2018 on MOFs and their potential future applications.

If you would like to register your interest in speaking at this event or simply if you wish to find out further information on the event or MOFs in general, please contact Brian McCarthy: brian.mccarthy@ktn-uk.org
