Cyber security in the spotlight: apply now for CyberASAP 2020/21
CyberASAP Demo Day provides commercial opportunities for cyber security start-ups. Competition for 2020/21 is now open.
A year-long programme helping academics to commercialise their cyber security ideas, the Cyber security Academic Startup Accelerator Programme (CyberASAP) is now welcoming applications from academic teams for the 2020/21 programme, starting in April. The deadline to apply for funding is March 4th and more details of the competition and how to apply – together with a link to a recorded webinar briefing – are here.
The only pre-seed accelerator programme in the cyber security ecosystem, CyberASAP culminates in a Demo Day where teams showcase their proof of concept demonstrators to the commercial world. This year’s Demo Day ran last week at the spectacular Level39 in London. Find out more about the experience for this year’s teams here.
For Dr Jane Henriksen-Bulmer from Bournemouth University, one of the most valuable aspects of CyberASAP is that it is “completely different from anything you do in academia”. Dr Jorge Blasco Alis from Royal Holloway says that CyberASAP “takes you out of your comfort zone”.
CyberASAP is all about promoting continued innovation and investment in the rapidly growing and vitally important cyber security sector. Now entering its fourth year, the programme has helped over 50 academic teams progress their ideas to various stages in the journey from lab to market. Find out more about our alumni here.
If you would like to be one of them, apply now to join the 2020/21 programme, funded by the UK Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and delivered through Innovate UK and the KTN.
The deadline for applications for CyberASAP 2020/21 is midday on Wednesday 4th March.
