EU Project SCRREEN Publishes Recordings and Slides from Critical Raw Materials Webinar Series

Over 180 delegates registered for the SCRREEN Webinars held on 8th and 15th May 2019 to find out more about Critical Raw Materials.

The webinars were hosted by KTN on behalf of the SCRREEN Project (KTN is a project partner) and were delivered by Darren Hill, KTN, Peter Clark, KTN, Andrew Clifton, Rolls Royce, Luis Tercero Espinoza, Fraunhofer, Etienne Bouyer, CEA, Gnter Tiess, Minpol, Angelika Brechelmacher, Minpol, Marjaana Karhu, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, and Guttorm Syvertsen-Wiig, Ceramic Powder Technology AS.

The webinars gave an overview of use and substitutability, and policy and economic outlook for critical raw materials (CRMs).

In summary, the webinars covered:

  • The latest CRM substitution profiles
  • Introduction to the sustainability index
  • Outcomes from recent surveys and interviews
  • Recommendations for policy intervention
  • Overview of economic drivers for substitution of CRMs
  • Two substitution case studies for Alloys and Batteries
