Industrial Energy Transformation Fund 2024 update
The Industrial Energy Transformation Fund (IETF) is designed to help businesses with high energy use to cut their energy bills and carbon emissions through investing in energy efficiency and low carbon technologies. The government announced £315 million of funding in the 2018 Budget, available up until 2027.
The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero manages the IETF for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, with £289 million to invest over consecutive application windows split into 2 phases. The first two phases are now closed.
In March 2023 Treasury announced that there would be an IETF Phase 3, providing an additional £185 million in funding. They held a consultation on its design in the summer of 2023. IETF Phase 3 will open in January 2024.
Phase 1 and 2 funded projects can be viewed here.
