Overview
UK Circular Plastics Network and WRAP are running an event on the 6th November to look at the emerging activities, drivers, initiatives and opportunities for the circularity of plastics through the re-use of plastic packaging in the FMCG sector. The event is to be held at The Studio in Birmingham and is a full day free event for members of the UK Plastics Pact and UK Circular Plastic Network.
Creating a circular economy for plastics through the reuse of plastic packaging – when is it worth it and what opportunities can it bring in the fast moving consumer goods sector? This free event will give you the insights to make more informed choices about re-use in your business.
The event, chaired by Peter Maddox (Director, WRAP), will cover:
- Discussion around the definition of plastics reuse and what it means
- What the benefits of plastic reuse are and why it is important
- Plastics reuse in practice – presentations from organisations operating reuse systems
- Discussion to understand barriers and opportunities to implementing reuse
The day will generate insights that will help retailers and packaging professionals and those looking to innovate with re-use models in this area to make better informed choices about re-use going forward. Sally Beken of the UK Circular Plastics Network and Innovation Lead on the Sustainable Smart Plastic Packaging challenge at Innovate UK will provide information relating to government funding for this sector.
