New DASA SBRI Competition: Regenerative Medicine at the Front Line
£1 million of funding is available
Defence and Security Accelerator competition
Information on the Defence and Security Accelerator competition for which at least £1 million of funding is available.
This Defence and Security Accelerator (Accelerator) themed competition ‘regenerative medicine at the front line’ is seeking proposals for regenerative technologies that can be applied very early after severe, traumatic injury resulting from combat or acts of terrorism. This competition aims to make a real difference by saving lives and reducing disability.
This competition is open. Proposals must be submitted by midday on 11 April 2018.
The Defence and Security Accelerator themed competition seeks to make a real difference in saving lives and reducing disability following serious injury through two challenge areas:
- bioengineered blood and blood components
- the preservation and regeneration of soft tissue using biophysical approaches
The outputs from this work would be developed for use by the UK’s Defence Medical Services and other organisations who deliver trauma care in challenging environments. These approaches should also reduce the burden on later care supplied by both MoD and the NHS.
Up to £500,000 is available for phase 1 of this competition. At least another £500,000 will be made available for phase 2.
Full details can be found in the Competition Document at: Competition document: regenerative medicine at the front line
The competition will be briefed at an innovation network event in Bristol on 1 February 2018 and a webinar on 5 February 2018.
Proposals must be submitted to the Accelerator submission service online by midday on 11 April 2018.
