New speakers announced - 49th Intelligent Sensing Programme
The KTN Agrifood and Sensors teams combine forces for the 49th Intelligent Sensing Programme to focus on Sensing In Precision (Digital) Agriculture.
Date: 19th September 2019, 9:30am – 16:15pm
Venue: theStudio, Leeds
Data driven decision making is a key objective of the UK’s Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund ‘Transforming Food Production’ and sensors will continue to play an important and growing part in transforming the precision agricultural sector.
This one-day workshop will bring together farming communities, sensor technology providers, new technology developers, and other relevant stakeholders including innovation funders. It’s a great opportunity to network, share knowledge, stimulate new ideas, develop collaborations and partnerships, and to promote the innovation development and the adoption of such sensing technologies in the UK farming industries.
Expert speakers have been invited to give talks covering key subjects relevant to market challenges and needs, state of the art commercial sensing technologies, emerging sensor technologies, and relevant innovation funding opportunities in the UK.
The role of the KTN Agrifood team is to provide suitable speakers to frame ‘Challenges and Needs’ alongside ‘State of the Art Sensing Technologies’ currently being adopted in precision agriculture. Confirmed speakers to date include:
- Dave Ross, Agri Epi Centre CEO, providing an overview of sensors/data in agriculture.
- Anthony Yousefian, Director at 30MHz, will talk about Digital Infrastructure needed to lower the barrier to technology adoption of sensors and intelligent systems
- Three state of the art and novel agricultural sensors will also be highlighted by Cathy Rushworth Curran, Liquid Vision Innovation, Andrej Porovic/Jim Bailey, PES Technologies and Rob Stichbury, FungiAlert.
- Polly Douglas from the Scottish Aquaculture Innovation Centre will present an overview of sensor use in Aquaculture.
Further speakers to be announced shortly.
