About The Scottish Centre of Excellence in Satellite Applications (SoXSA):
The Satellite Application Catapult aims to support industry and the science base across the UK to accelerate the growth of satellite application. The Catapult has several Regional Centres of Excellence around the UK, The Scottish Centre being one of them. These Centres support work with local communities to achieve the aim of growing satellite applications to capture a 10% share of the £400 billion global space market predicted by 2030.
The UK Space Agency supports the UK Government’s regional growth agenda and is therefore contributing to the Centres of Excellence Programme. The Centres of Excellence act as representatives and ambassadors for the Catapult in their local region and link the science base in their area with large industry and SMEs. SoXSA has an end-to-end focus on the use of satellite derived data to challenge conventional ideas and develop new concepts in the exploitation of space for the betterment of life on Earth.
