Thermophysical Properties Industry Survey
Contribute towards this short survey to help develop a roadmap for Thermophysical Properties measurement services.
The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) is in the process of developing a roadmap for Thermophysical Properties Measurement Services in order to better meet the needs of UK industry. Your contribution will be an immense help to us and we invite you to take part in a short survey. Please choose the one most relevant to you for your opportunity to input into a national strategy.

Please note: these surveys will close on 28 July 2017.
NPL’s work in Thermophysical Properties
Thermal performance data on materials and structures is required for design and heat management in most forms of advanced engineering and processing applications. NPL:
- Provides comprehensive, world-class facilities for measuring thermal properties.
- Has UKAS accreditation to ISO Guide 34 for the provision of thermal conductivity reference materials and transfer standards used to calibrate commercial measurement apparatus.
- Measure: thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, heat capacity, and thermal expansion from -170 °C to 2000 °C, under controlled atmospheres for a wide range of materials, such as: alloys, polymer composites, graphene based nano-composites, multilayer systems, advanced ceramics, insulations, aerogel and liquids. Most of these techniques have accreditation to ISO17025.
