UK Research and Innovation Launch New Demonstrate Impact Programme under the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF)
KTN and Innovate UK will deliver a series of information briefing and partnership building events to support two competition rounds.
About the Fund
The Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) is a £1.5 billion fund announced by the UK Government in late 2015 to support cutting-edge research that addresses the challenges faced by developing countries.
GCRF consists of a series of calls designed to enhance the overall impact across strategic GCRF Challenge portfolios including:
- global health
- education
- sustainable cities
- conflict and displacement
- resilience
The Fund aims to reduce poverty by generating and putting into use knowledge and technology to address development challenges and advance development for the poorest people and countries. Demonstrate Impact funding in particular will support later-stage or closer to market projects that show excellent potential for transformative, positive change in the lives of people in and on the economies of lower and middle income countries (LMICs).
Event Series
The Demonstrate Impact Programme will deliver a series of events per competition round. Delegates will be invited to thematic information and briefing events which will allow companies from the region itself, as well as companies with a particular interest in that region to attend.
Important Dates
The competition has two rounds: Round One is currently scheduled to open on 9th September 2019 and will close on 13th November 2019. More information on this exciting programme and details on how to apply for funding will be available soon.
