A mechanical engineer by qualification and transportation engineer by profession, being a Fellow of the Institute of Highway Engineers. I started my career at British Gas and then joined Norfolk County Council moving from development planning to transport strategy via traffic management and road safety. Looking for a change I moved into the district council environment with Breckland Council as Growth Manager delivering infrastructure and economic development projects such as a cinema led retail development a transportation hub am managing a £6.6m grants programme. I then moved on to West Suffolk Councils as a place manager delivering place-based projects and bringing in grant funding for housing and post covid economic regeneration projects.
As Knowledge Transfer Manager Place (Local Authorities) I look forward to helping colleagues connect with councils throughout the country deliver positive outcomes for their net zero and decarbonisation projects by finding innovative suppliers and solution providers. I also help fellow IUK colleagues navigate the world of local government and vice versa. I am passionate about raising awareness of our work within local government and have a particular passion for sustainable low bill, low environmental impact housing and transport innovation.
