Attracting investment and creating local value in Surrey with Net Zero Living support.

Surrey County Council, working with partners EnergyPro and Ibex Earth, led the Shift to Net Zero project to help smaller councils in the South East access private investment. Fourteen local authorities received in-house training and expert support to develop investable decarbonisation projects and stronger business cases.

Runnymede Borough Council, located in Surrey near Heathrow, delivered the Runway to Net Zero project. It explored how aviation companies could offset carbon locally through EV charging and home retrofit schemes. It also assessed Heathrow’s potential to act as a renewable energy hub and turn local authority waste into sustainable aviation fuel.

ThinkClock, a Surrey-based battery intelligence company, was selected for Innovate UK’s Global Incubator Programme. With support from Net Zero Living, it is now introducing its BatteryScope platform to India to scale clean transport and energy storage solutions.
